A throwaway line to my absolute star of a mentor came back to haunt me at this event, ‘it’s like i’m a toddler again; learning a new language.’
Business is a new language, and i have to learn it fast.
With mini bottles of Smoked in hand (to pop on the produce table), I overcame social nerves to chat to like minded entrepreneurs and investors. There were only a couple of people that made me feel uncomfortably stupid/clueless. And, because of my honesty in being so green – i’m happy to take them looking down their noses at me. (I chuckle. Honest!)
Otherwise – everyone I spoke to was perfectly lovely and up for sharing their knowledge and support. A priceless evening!
